I’ve developed a bit of an IKEA obsession over the last few years. There. I said it. It began when a family friend took hubs and I to one in Florida while visiting family there several years ago. And then the obsession kinda creeped up on me. It came to a head when one opened just outside Kansas City, a mere 3 hours from me. I’ve been to it 5 times now since it opened 13 months ago. Nope. Not ashamed.

My mom usually tags along, and occasionally my sister, to support me and my habit. We make a day of it and of course eat as much BBQ as possible! One of our favorite places is called Rye KC in Leawood, KS. If you’re in the area check them out. Make sure you save room for a slice of Banana Cream Pie. You won’t regret it!

After we are fueled for our shopping we make our way over to IKEA. One of my favorite IKEA things are the hacks you can find out there. We have a board on our Pinterest so make sure to give us a follow to keep up on the latest. I wanted to share a few of my favorites here and hope to inspire you to hack IKEA too!

ikeaThis is one of my favorite hacks! The yellow really pops and the use of Overlays adds a lot to this piece making it look very rich. We of course know it’s secret! Details

ikeaInspired by furniture seen at Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. Made using a $14.99 metal shelving unit, wood, paint, and stain. Saving hundreds in the process. I’m sold! Details

I love the mid century modern feel of this piece. I know the site is in French but I had to share! Details

ikeaNow here’s an example of thinking outside of the box. Here are 3 night stands that are hung together to create a space that can be used in an entry or office. Love! Details

ikeaAnd finally is this post I found sharing how well IKEA items have held up. Worth a read! Details
