It has been one of those weeks filled with appointments and errands. Since I had my eyes done it’s been nice to not have to worry about contacts or glasses though. Really great to be able to wear sunglasses again! Short lived with the rain but nice regardless.
Made a big decision with our home remodel. Decided that chalk paint will be the way to go on the kitchen cabinets. Going white and am trying to decide if I should distress them or if I should antique them or do both or neither. Hubs likes the distressed look but I’m not 100% on board with it. Will be doing a sample board to help with the decision process.
This weekend I will be attending The Parade of Homes that is going on in Omaha. Since Hubs and I are going to be moving there soon we want to check out some of the homes and talk to the builders. We haven’t totally committed to building but we are leaning heavily towards it. This event has been around for awhile and happens twice a year. Normally I go on my own or drag Mom along cause I love seeing all the homes and the interiors. This year though Hubs is going with me!
With my mind on interiors (when isn’t it?) here are our favorites for the week!
What an amazing cabinet set up this is! Love that there is an open counter and shelf space. Bonus points for keeping things in order behind those glass doors.
How refreshing this living room feels. Shh. Can you hear that? That’s the open water soothing your soul. And if there’s bad weather you can always close the sliding doors and leave the shutters open.
Classic dining space. That light fixture is just classic enough without feeling dated. Love the rafters and the use of smaller table runners for placemats.
A book lover’s dream! Having a mini library right in your home. And it blends so seamlessly from the living space.
Love the navy walls paired with the white mouldings in this bedroom. The transom window is always a favorite of mine too. Even though there is a lot of blue in play here it does not feel overwhelming. Great mix of textures too with the rug, bench, and wallpaper.
A soothing bath is always welcoming. This is a great example of wall paneling done right. Love how the pendants are hung just right so their light reflects off the upper mirror.
Who’s up for a challenge? I know I always try to take the stairs when I can and to read a chapter a day but do fall short. This is great inspiration to print out and post somewhere as a reminder. And most of the items are quite small and not time consuming at all.
