Hello Sunday Funday!
Today is the first Sunday in a couple weeks that I can hang at home and veg out a little. The last couple weeks have been filled with fun, family, and friends. While it has been amazing seeing so much of my favorite peeps and doing awesome stuff I have felt neglectful of you, my newest peeps. In a way it’s been good that I have been away cause I have some new post ideas and they are in the works! Stay tuned and sign up for our emails so you don’t miss a thing!
This week we took another step in our new home process. We have partnered with a realtor and we are super excited to work with her! I’ve met with her twice now and I could sit talking home things with her for hours…which I have already done. She’s probably like sheesh lady do you talk about anything else…cause I haven’t really at all. Just houses and interiors. She’s obviously up for it since she’s on board to work with us. Even better? We have our first meet with a builder scheduled. I’m so incredibly excited I can hardly contain myself!
If that wasn’t enough to make me burst then do you know what is? Finding incredible deals! Mom and I took a trip south Friday for IKEA and BBQ. First, we needed fuel for the shopping and decided to check out the original, gas station Oklahoma Joe’s in Kansas City. The food is great but it was super crowded and if I’m being honest, it made me a little anxious. Think I’ll stick with our usual Joe’s location in Leawood. Anyhoo. We went to IKEA and I had in mind to check out sideboards as possible master bath vanity options. Didn’t really have anything jump out at me so continued our stroll through. Mom scoped out the deal on our way out of the kitchen area. See, she’s a pro with many years experience while I am still half unfocused…I’ll get there, it just takes me a minute longer. There in the corner edge of the section sat 2 cabinets with the bright yellow tags above calling out their clearance. These guys were marked down 50%! I was able to get 4 cabinets, 4 interior drawers, and 4 shelves for $150! The cabinets will go in our master bath and will make a 66″ vanity. The double vanity cabinets I’ve seen can be upwards of $1,000 or more so this is a huge savings!
Obviously I’ll have a post up about that fantasticness when we get closer but first we’ll have painted our kitchen cabinets. The paint has been picked up for this and will be put to use this week. Decided to go with chalk paint after reading nearly all of the 5 hundred million posts about how to paint kitchen cabinets. Seriously. It really seems like there are that many out there. I have painted a couple swatches on one of the cabinet walls and it has gone on surprisingly well. The amount of time I’ll save is worth the extra cost for the paint I think. More on this in the next week or so.
So for this coming week I need all kinds of inspiration to keep me focused. If only that deal of the century would keep from the front of my mind…
